This competition is open to all budding artists under the age of 12 who either have cystic fibrosis (CF), or who have a close relative with the condition.
The winning design will become part of our 2020 card collection, which will be available to purchase online and through our catalogue, raising vital funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. The lucky winner will also receive a prize to the value of £100!
The first runner up will win a £50 voucher, and the second runner-up will win a £30 voucher.
To get started, download an entry form, read the terms and conditions and scroll down below to see our FAQs. If entering a photo or computer-generated image as opposed to a hand-drawn image, please see the terms and condition for details of how to enter.
Thank you for taking part and best of luck!
Please read the full terms and conditions for details of how to enter the competition.
The competition is open to children with cystic fibrosis under the age of 12 who either have cystic fibrosis, or who have a close relative with the condition.
Who can enter?
Children under the age of 12 who either have cystic fibrosis (CF), or who have a close relative with the condition can enter. Any type of relative or step-relative can enter as long as they are under 12 years of age.
What if my child turns 13 before the closing date (31 December 2019)?
Children should be under 12 years of age at the time of entering.
How will you check that children are under 12 years old?
We will be relying on the honesty of our supporters. If an entrant is found to be over 12, they will forfeit their prize and another winner will be selected.
Can I email a scanned copy of my child’s card and just send you an actual copy if they win?
Unfortunately not. Hand-drawn entries must be sent by post because the winning card must go to Impress Publishing (our card suppliers) so that it can be remastered for print in the 2020 card collection. We want to have the original cards so that we can ensure the cards are of a good quality and the colour is as intended. Computer-generated and photo entries can be sent by email as this will not affect the quality or colour.
What if my child wins and I do not want them to take part in any publicity?
If your child wins or they are a runner-up we will only publish the child’s first name, age, connection to cystic fibrosis and county in promotions. As part of the competition we need to announce who has won but the information we release to the public, and the information printed on the final card, will be very basic. If you do not want to provide any further information or take part in any additional publicity, we respect that decision.
Why can’t my entry be returned? What if I included a stamp or return envelope?
The winning card must be sent to Impress Publishing (our card suppliers) so that it can be remastered for print in the 2020 collection so unfortunately it cannot be returned.
How is the competition judged?
Judging will be carried out by Cystic Fibrosis Trust staff members and a representative from Impress Publishing. The judges' decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding this decision. Thanks so much for your support and good luck with the competition!
Our 4th annual Christmas card competition
Lily, aged nine, who won this year’s competition said:
"My sisters and I enjoy entering competitions and really loved doing the xmas card competition as my sister Betsy has cystic fibrosis. I chose a cow because our new house has cows in the field at the bottom of the garden!"
Lily's design is on sale as a pack of ten and as part of a multipack with the designs of our talented runners-up. See more of our other Christmas cards on sale.
